Madagascar – Recipe from David Embury’s ‘The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks’

1 part Lemon Juice 

3 parts Orange Juice 

8 parts White Cuban Rum 

Shake with cracked ice. Sprinkle a small pinch of grated nutmeg on each drink. 

This is, in effect, an Orange Blossom, using rum in place of gin.

This drink didn’t really work for me, despite the name reminding me of all those cute little lemurs from the film, or it having my favourite ingredient of all time, nutmeg, on top.

Without some syrup, or bitters, or anything really its just rum and juice, and even the nutmeg doesn’t really work on top. This was sadly underwhelming and best avoided.
