Shamrock #2– Recipe from David Embury’s ‘The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks’
Another version of this drink consists of 1 part green creme de menthe to 2 or 3 parts gin with a teaspoonful each of lemon and orange juice and i egg white to each 2 drinks.
So both Shamrocks are wins for me.
The former is much more like a Barry, only using a different coloured crème de menthe (hence the name), with Angostura and shaken, the flavours are similar, as is the ‘concept’ of the drink.
This one is a minty gin sour, very easy to drink, and well worth trying.
