York – Recipe from the ‘Old Waldorf Bar Guide’

Dash of Orange Bitters

One-half French Vermuth

One-half Scotch Whiskey

Stir; strain

This drink was a bit of a surprise, you almost always see whiskey with Italian vermouth so with French caught my eye. After the Country club (Oct 17th) my eyes have opened a little about French vermouth and spirits other than gin.

I used Dolin and Ballantines, a friend of mine works as a Ambassador for Ballantines so we always have a bottle behind the bar, and it worked wonderfully in this drink. I’m not a big Scotch person but I really enjoyed the drink, well worth a try.
